![]() ![]() UPDATE 2: I've kinda fixed my issue by changing my samba settings. It works, because nfs maps uid and gid of server with its clients, so any file permissions assigned to the exported. The non-interactive shell option will prevent admin at NFS client from gaining access to NFS server. UPDATE: Would this do what I want it to do? Default file permissions for php user www-data Create user and group admin with non-interactive shell on NFS server, assuming that admin user and group exists in nfs client. I did some research and saw that it should be possible to use setuid (and setgid) to automatically set www-data as the owner of all files put into /var/www automatically, so far I've not had any luck making it work. Permission rules set at the project level act as a default for content saved in that. I would like newly created files/folders to be owned by the creator. It seems every CIFS share I create defaults to a behavior of all files and folders created by any user to be owned by local user group 'built-inAdministrators'. The problem is that I want www-data to become the owner. Manage Projects and Content Access Set Permissions and Ownership. Im trying to setup permissions for a CIFS share and we are on ONTAP 9.1p7. I am logged in as administrator and I right click on a folder and then go to properties, then the security tab, then advanced, then the owner tab. I've set-up LAMP and have created a /var/any files that I copy into that folder (from my Windows machine via the network) automatically take on me (daniel) as their owner. I'm a web developer, and so have set-up an old machine in the office as an Ubuntu Server, for the purposes of testing websites. ![]()
